What We Use - Local Storage Only
Tooltri uses browser local storage for one purpose only: to remember your theme preference (Dark Mode or Light Mode) between visits. This ensures a consistent visual experience without requiring an account, login or any form of user tracking. Local storage data never leaves your device and is never transmitted to our servers.
Google AdSense Cookies
Because Tooltri displays advertisements through Google AdSense, Google and its advertising partners may set third-party cookies in your browser to serve personalized ads based on your browsing history across the web. These cookies are set and managed entirely by Google - they are outside of Tooltri's control and are governed by Google's Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy. You can opt out of personalized advertising at any time by visiting adssettings.google.com.
What We Do Not Use
Tooltri does not set any first-party cookies. We do not use tracking cookies, analytics cookies, session cookies or any cookies to monitor your behavior on our platform. We do not use pixel tags, web beacons, browser fingerprinting or any other tracking technology beyond Google Analytics (which collects anonymized, aggregate traffic data) and Google AdSense (which serves advertisements). No tool input data - including financial figures, passwords, code or personal dates - is ever stored in cookies or local storage.
Local Storage vs. Cookies - What's the Difference?
Cookies are small data files that your browser sends to a server with every request - they can be read by both your browser and the server. Local storage is a browser feature that stores data exclusively on your device and is never sent to any server. Tooltri uses only local storage (not cookies) for its own functionality, which means your theme preference is stored entirely on your device and is never accessible to us or any third party.
Google Analytics
Tooltri uses Google Analytics to collect anonymized, aggregate usage data including page views, tool clicks, session duration, geographic regions (country-level only), device types and browser versions. Google Analytics may use cookies to distinguish unique sessions. This data helps us understand which tools are most used and how to improve our platform. Google Analytics never receives any data you enter into our tools - your financial figures, passwords, code or personal information are never transmitted to Google Analytics under any circumstances.
Your Control Over Cookies & Local Storage
You have complete control over cookies and local storage on your device. You can clear local storage and cookies at any time through your browser settings - this will reset your theme preference to the default but will not affect your ability to use any tool on Tooltri. You can also block third-party cookies entirely through your browser's privacy settings, which will prevent Google AdSense from setting advertising cookies. Instructions for managing cookies vary by browser and are typically found under Settings → Privacy & Security.
Opting Out of Personalized Ads
If you prefer not to receive personalized advertisements, you can opt out through the following resources: Google Ads Settings at adssettings.google.com allows you to control what data Google uses for ad personalization. The Network Advertising Initiative opt-out tool at networkadvertising.org/choices lets you opt out of multiple ad networks at once. The Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out at optout.aboutads.info provides additional control over interest-based advertising. Opting out does not remove ads from Tooltri - it means the ads you see will not be personalized based on your browsing history.
